A nymphet was a little, or young, nymph.

The word nymph originates from the Greek 'nymphe' first meaning "bride, young wife," later "beautiful young woman," then "semi-divine being in the form of a beautiful maiden." Famous examples of Nymphs were the nine 'Muses' who all had musical and artistic gifts that allowed them to entertain the gods, the Nereids who were the nymphs of the ocean, the Dryads and Hamadryads who were the nymphs of the wood. Perhaps the most famous of all were the Sirens who were temptresses of the sea whose singing lured sailors to their deaths. The Sirens feature in the Mythical Story of Odysseus.
