He was the god of war, a powerful warrior recognised by his bronze armor
Fact 2:The names of his parents were Zeus and Hera, the King and Queen of the Olympian gods
Fact 3:He was one of the 12 gods who resided on the summit of Mount Olympus
Fact 4:He and Aphrodite were the parents of Phobos (fear), Deimos (terror), Harmonia (harmony), Eros, god of love, Himeros (desire), Pothos (passion), and Anteros (mutual love)
Fact 5:He fought with the other Olympian gods in a War against the Gigantes (giants)
Fact 6:He killed the giant Echidnades, a fierce monster and enemy of the gods
Fact 7:He was caught in an invisible net by Hephaestus whilst committing adultery with his wife Aphrodite
Fact 8:Eris, the goddess of discord, was his companion who always preceded his chariot in battle
Fact 9:He his throne on Mount Olympus was upholstered with human skin
